The Southern Ohio Northern Kentucky Consortium (SONK) of Sigma Theta Tau International is hosting its annual conference titled,
"Resilience, Innovation, and Hope: Empowering Health Care Professionals"The purpose of this presentation is to define the concept of foresight leadership to advance the development of foresight, resilience, and innovation among nurses. We will describe steps in the foresight process to activate creativity, innovation, hope, and transformational learning in nursing education, practice, research, and policy development.
Keynote: Daniel J. Pesut, Ph.D., Rn, FAAN
Dr. Pesut is a nurse educator, academic, researcher, consultant, and coach. He is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing and Emeritus Katherine R and C Walton Lillehei Chair in Nursing Leadership at the University of Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and an Honaryr Member of the Global Academy of Holistic Nursing. He is the past President of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International. Dr. Pesut has a long-standing commitment to creativity, innovation, futures thinking, and foresight leadership in nursing and health care. The Daniel J. Pesut Spirit of Renewal Award honors his leadership legacy in nursing and is a Sigma International biennial award given to nurse leaders.
Speaker: Rajeev Kurapati, MD
Dr. Kurapati is a physician, author, and an advocate for the prevention and reversal of chronic diseases using health, sustainable and evidence-based lifestyle changes. He practices Hospital Medicine and serves as Medical Director of Integrative Oncology at a large healthcare organization in Northern Kentucky, USA. He draws insight from scientific knowledge and spiritual wisdom to provide answers to many of life's existential questions.
